Vice President

Todd Roberts has 25 years of experience in various roles including financial advisory, human resources, marketing, business strategy and operations.  He was a licensed financial advisor in the 1990s but then spent 11 years in technology and e-commerce before returning to the financial advisory and insurance field in 2005. With a focus on advising dentists as small business owners, he is passionate about ensuring that his clients protect their risks and achieve maximum success.

Todd holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in human resources and business strategy from McGill University.  He is a certified Dental Practice Manager, having completed the CDPM program at University of Toronto, faculty of Dentistry in 2015. He has completed two of the four courses for the Certified Health Specialist (CHS) designation and two of the five Certified Financial Planner (CFP) courses.

Todd is a member of Advocis, the Financial Advisors Association of Canada and of CALU – the Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting – having served on the Government Relations and the Membership and Communications committees.

Todd lives in Newmarket with his wife and two school-aged children.  He is the head coach of the Newmarket Hawks mosquito select baseball team and volunteers with Newmarket Stingers softball. When not at work or on the ball diamond he is usually running, cooking or travelling.

Cory Wilson

Cory earned his economics degree from Carleton University in 2018 and is currently on track to earn his CFP (Certified Financial Planner) designation. Cory launched his financial planning career at London Life – Freedom 55 Financial in 2020 before joining PROTECT in April of 2021, where he works very closely with Dentists to help them achieve financial success. In his short career, individuals and businesses have trusted Cory when it comes to wealth management, retirement planning, estate planning, and employee benefits.

Cory makes it his priority to provide his clients a high level of customer service, knowledge and understanding of the financial landscape. A well thought out plan gives people confidence and peace of mind that they are moving in the right direction and will ultimately accomplish their goals. Outside of work, Cory maintains an active lifestyle through sport and gives back to his former minor hockey association as a Coach.

Nicola Campbell

Student & New Grad Specialist

Nicola Campbell joined Protect in early 2018 and has a diverse professional background which includes 5 years with State Farm in Life Insurance, Marketing and Process Improvement as well as front-line and retail management roles.

Nicola is a graduate of the Toastmasters program in which she earned her Competent Communicator and her Competent Leader. In the course of the program she was also the winner of multiple international speech competitions. She holds an honours diploma in Business from Everest College where she received a number of awards. She is also a Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) and holds designations as an Associate, Customer Service (ACS) as well as Associate, Insurance Agency Administration (AIAA).

As Student and New Grad Specialist, Nicola supports students as they navigate their options for protecting their future and focuses on the design and execution of the New Grad Program.

Nicola was born in Kingston Jamaica and is an avid Toronto sports fan who rarely misses a Raptors, TFC, or Blue Jays game. Nicola and her husband Ian live in a condo high above Lake Ontario with their cats Mark and Miranda. They have 3 grown children who live in Toronto and a gorgeous granddaughter named Charlotte.

Mrs. Jeremy Speers

Client Service Representative

Jeremy Speers joined Protect in January 2014 and offers a wealth of experience in Administration and Client Service. 

Jeremy has a license in Life Insurance; holds a University of Toronto Certificate in Financial Analysis & Investment Management and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Ryerson University.  She brings with her a wealth of experience (18 years) in the Financial Service Industry. Her position ranged from a Junior Business Analyst in an RESP Company to an Administration Consultant for an Offshore Investment (Trust) Company.  Dedication, hard work, commitment and always having a positive attitude are her core values that makes her excel at what she does.

As a Client Service Associate, Jeremy’s primary responsibilities involve managing underwriting, the FEPO process, responding to client inquiries and requests, managing/updating client files and provides support to the Protect Advisors to service and support existing clients.

In her spare time-Jeremy loves spending time with her daughter and husband-doing all sorts of activities and going on short trips. She is a strong believer of staying fit by doing some form of exercise or activities. Her family and close friends call her the girl that is ‘always on the go’.

Dr. E.W. (Ted) Mitchinson

Associate Broker

Dr. Ted Mitchinson joined our team in 2008. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario in Dentistry in 1977 and operated a private dental practice in the town of Fort Erie Ontario for 24 years before deciding to pursue other interests in 2001. He worked as a Business Advisor to small business owners for one of the major Canadian banks, during which time he completed the Canadian Securities Course, and the Professional Financial Planning course through the Canadian Securities Institute. As a personal interest goal, he also attained a Certificate in Access to Information and Protection of Privacy from the University of Alberta.

Ted has a keen interest in helping dental professionals, knowing the challenges and difficulties that they face. Taking the time to properly understand how to make good financial decisions is often not feasible for a busy dentist. His experience and background have prepared him to be a trusted advisor.

Ted still resides in Ridgeway Ontario, in the beautiful Niagara Peninsula. He and his wife Pattie have two sons.
